The Ratha Jatra of Lord Jagannath began on Monday morning in Odisha's Puri as the Covid-19 pandemic forced a no-participation order for the devotees for the second year in a row.
As many as 65 platoons (one platoon comprising 30 personnel) were deployed for the smooth conduct of Lord Jagannath's annual festival amidst the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic.
During the chariot procession, the government has completely prohibited people from congregating on the Grand Road in front of the 12th-century shrine in Puri. Watch the full report here.
