Voting for 476 posts of block panchayat chiefs began at 11 am in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, the State Election Commission said. The voting will continue till 3 pm and the counting of votes will start right after that, it said. A total of 349 candidates for the block panchayat chief posts were elected unopposed on Friday, the last day for the withdrawal of nomination papers. Watch video,

यूपी में अगले साल होने वाले विधानसभा चुनाव से पहले सियासी पार्टियों में पंचायत और ब्लॉक स्तर के चुनावों में जमकर फाइट देखने को मिली. दरसल Uttar Pradesh में Bock Panchayat Election के लिए आज वोटिंग हुई. इस दौरान जमकर हिंसा और झड़प की भी खबरें सामने आई. सूबे में अबतक 349 ब्लॉक प्रमुख निर्विरोध चुन लिए गए हैं. वहीं आज 476 सीटों पर मतदान हुआ.
