The Centre in its affidavit to the Delhi High Court has said that Twitter has failed to comply with the new IT rules. "Twitter Inc. failed to comply with new IT Rules, which are law of land and required to be complied with mandatorily," it said. The Centre also said Twitter was a “significant social media intermediary” which was obliged to comply with the IT Rules 2021. This comes days after Twitter filed an affidavit claiming it was in the process of appointing a grievance redressal officer and had complied with the IT rules.
