24-year-old, Vismaya, an Ayurveda medical student, allegedly died by suicide in south Kerala on June 21. Vismaya’s family alleged torture and harassment by her husband S Kiran Kumar over dowry. A day after Vismaya’s death, Kumar was taken into custody and was charged under section 304B of the Indian Penal Code (dowry death)
