The Calcutta High Court on Monday dismissed the TMC government's plea seeking a recall of a judgment by a five-judge bench that directed the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to examine all cases of alleged human rights violations during post-poll violence in the state.

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Police's Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has busted a nation-wide religious conversion racket and arrested two people on Monday. The UP Police said the racket involved the conversion of deaf children and women to Islam and more than 1,000 people had been converted so far.
