Even though Section 377 has been decriminalized in the country, the stigma against a same-sex marriage is still prevalent in the society. This couple from Danagadi area of Jajpur is a victim of the same stigma and has sought protection. Subhalakshmi Pati and Lakshmipriya Mishra, aged 22 and 21, respectively had decided to get married after being together for two years. However, their family did not accept their marriage and have been making matters unpleasant for the young couple.
