Amit Shah to attend high-level PMO, MHA officials' meet to review preparedness for 3rd wave

The second wave of the coronavirus, which ravaged the country, seems to be finally ebbing. And the preparations are on by the government to battle a possible third wave. A high-level government meeting to review the preparedness of the health infrastructure will happen today. 

Senior officials of PMO and MHA are going to attend this high-level review meet. Home Minister Amit Shah is also likely to attend. The agenda of the meet is to essentially discuss operational matters, preparations for a possible third wave and ensuring oxygen supply, availability of vaccine and other issues faced by the government during the second wave. 

Meanwhile, India on Thursday registered 94,052 cases and over 6000 deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 24 crore, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday. So far, 3,38,08,845 people in the 18-44 age group have received the first dose across states and union territories and 4,05,114 have got the second dose.
