As many as 18 people have died after a fire broke out in a water purifying factory at Pirangut industrial zone in Pune's Ghotawade Phata. The fire erupted in the chemical packaging section of the water purifying chemical factory at Pirangut in Mulsi Taluka. Following the tragedy that resulted in loss of 18 lives, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin.
