Ready to touch PM Modi's feet, stop this political vendetta: Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday appealed to the BJP government at the centre to "stop this political vendetta" for the sake of the people. She said, "I am ready to touch your feet."

This comes a day after a major political controversy ensued when Banerjee allegedly 'skipped' the Cyclone Yaas review meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On Friday evening, the central government recalled West Bengal chief secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay who accompanied the CM to the meeting. He has been deputed to the Ministry of Public Grievances and Pensions.

During her press conference on Saturday, CM Banerjee appealed to the central government 'with folded hands' to withdraw the letter recalling her state's chief secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay.
