Centre issues guidelines to combat and contain spread of Covid-19 in rural areas

The central government discussed strategies to contain and manage Covid-19 in the rural, peri-urban and tribal areas of India. The Union Health Ministry has uploaded the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for management of Covid spread in rural India in a document on its website. This includes sensitisation of ground workers, particularly medical officers and block-level nodal officers, on surveillance, containment and use of rapid antigen tests (RAT) for quick screening.
