Brad Stevens Postgame Interview | Celtics vs Timberwolves

Brad Stevens was interviewed post game after the Celtics took down the Timberwolves 124-108. Coach Stevens said it was really important for Boston to get back into a groove before the play-in and establish how they needed to play. “We needed to feel good… we needed to get a good win… I thought it was really important when we step on this plane today to feel a little bit better.”
Payton Pritchard was taking some fearless shots, drawing coverage deep at the logo due to his shooting abilities. Brad Stevens joked after the young rookie was mentioned in the same breath as great shooters like Curry and Lillard. “Well Payton will be really thrilled that you mentioned Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, and Payton Pritchard in the same sentence, I don’t know if we’ll fit his head into the plane if he hears that… yeah that’s more positive than it is negative.”
On Tremont Waters and having a solid game, Coach Stevens said “sometimes we start him when Smart and Kemba haven't been available…we do think that he can run a team and control a game… he has such vision that sometimes he’ll try the impossible… he’s an excellent shot creator for others and he did a good job today.”
On whether or not Evan Fournier or Jayson Tatum would play in the season finale tomorrow against the Knicks, Stevens said “We’ll ask them how they feel after the game… figure it out from there.”
Boston will be tasked with facing the winner of the Wizards-Hornets game tomorrow, something that Coach Stevens does not take lightly. “They [Hornets] drilled us in Charlotte… Washington is probably as hot as anybody in the East… Beal and Westbrook, that’s a pretty good place to start… we’re going to have our hands full on Tuesday night.”
