Covid-19_ 4,765 new cases, DG says it may hit 5k mid-May

Malaysia has recorded 4,765 new Covid-19 cases today, which is the highest number recorded in over three months.

Likewise, cases in Selangor also reached a three-month high today with 2,082 new cases recorded.

The last time cases were higher than today - both at the national-level and the Selangor-level - was on Jan 31. At the time, the country recorded 5,298 cases of which 2,460 cases were in Selangor.

Meanwhile, 39 deaths have been reported today, marking a new all-time high. The previous record was 26 deaths reported on Sunday.
