Coronavirus crisis| Karnataka turns into India's Covid-19 epicentre

With the Covid-19 second wave wreaking havoc in Karnataka and the existing curfew measures ineffective in containing the pandemic, the State government on Friday decided to impose a complete lockdown from 6 am on May 10 to 6 am on May 24.
Karnataka reported 48,791 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, with the highest single-day death toll of 592. The state's positivity rate is 30.69 per cent, with a 1.21 per cent case fatality rate.
