Oxygen Express to reach Delhi tonight; US lifts ban on vaccine raw materials export to India, more

After receiving innumerable SOS calls from various hospitals, the first Oxygen Express train for Delhi carrying around 70 tonnes of the life-saving gas will reach the city by Monday night.
Meanwhile, the US has finally confirmed that it will provide vaccine raw material to India. The United States has identified sources of specific raw material urgently required for the Indian manufacture of the Covishield vaccine that will immediately be made available for India.
"Just as India sent assistance to the United States as our hospitals were strained early in the pandemic, the United States is determined to help India in its time of need," said a statement by the US NSC.
The statement goes on to add that the United States is pursuing options to provide India with oxygen generation and related supplies on an urgent basis.
