AFMS to procure 23 mobile oxygen generators, to be deployed at military hospitals

Amid the surge in Covid-19 cases across India, the Armed Forces Medical Service (AFMS) have been pressed into action to help fight the second wave of pandemic in the country.

The central government has decided to airlift mobile oxygen generation plants from countries such as Germany. The Air Force has been pressed into service to airlift 23 mobile generation plants from Germany.  The oxygen plants will be used in Covid hospitals being run by the defence ministry and in other military hospitals. These plants are expected to augment the medical oxygen supply in the country amid the acute shortage.
