Jayson Tatum on Relationship with Terrence Clarke

Jayson Tatum was interviewed postage after the Celtics’ 109-104 loss vs the Brooklyn Nets. He spoke about the Celtics’ turnover problems, how the team can help Evan Fournier get into the flow of things, and his relationship with Terrence Clarke.
The Celtics had 19 turnovers in the loss to Brooklyn. “It’s very tough,” said Tatum. “It honestly feels like at times, myself included, that we kind of like shot ourselves in the foot.”
Evan Fournier made his return to the court in this one, and Tatum was asked about how the team plans to help him get into the swing of things. “Trying to help him out as much as we can,” said Tatum. “Fairly new and then had to miss time ‘cause of COVID… his transition hasn’t been smooth… just our job to help him with that process.”
Boston native Terrence Clarke died in a car accident in Los Angeles yesterday. The news shocked the basketball world, and Tatum was asked about his relationship with Clarke. “I met him after my rookie year,” said Tatum. “He was always smiling, always had a smile on his face… he came to my birthday party, birthday dinner last year… kind of like a little brother, someone that reached out for advice… he was just a good kid, always joking, always laughing.”
