Delhi's Oxygen Crisis: Stock Exhausted In Many Hospitals, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia Informs Dr Harsh Vardhan
  • 3 years ago
An oxygen mask strapped to his face & heard gasping for breath, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj released a video from his hospital bed. He pleaded to the centre & the Haryana government to show a \"big heart\" and provide oxygen. There is only three hours of oxygen left in the hospital he is admitted, said the Covid-19 positive AAP leader. Six hospitals in the national capital have exhausted their oxygen supply while seven others have less than five hours of oxygen left, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia told Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on April 22. In a letter to the Union health minister, Sisodia pointed out that six hospitals — Saroj Super Speciality Hospital, Shanti Mukund, Tirath Ram Shah Hospital, UK Nursing Home, Rathi Hospital & Santom Hospital, have exhausted their oxygen supply. Several small hospitals in the city struggled to replenish oxygen supply for coronavirus patients on April 22 morning, even as some big healthcare facilities received fresh stock. Centre on April 22 directed states to ensure uninterrupted production & supply of medical oxygen & its transport along inter-state borders & said the district magistrate & superintendent of police of the district concerned will be held responsible if there is any violation of its order.
