kami na ki tere wahshi ne KHak uDane mein
junun ka nam uchhalta raha zamane mein

junun se bhul hui dil pe choT khane mein
'firaq' der abhi thi bahaar aane mein

usi ki sharh hai ye uThte dard ka aalam
jo dastan thi nihan tere aankh uThane mein

wo koi rang hai jo uD na jae ai gul-e-tar
wo koi bu hai jo ruswa na ho zamane mein

کمی نہ کی ترے وحشی نے خاک اڑانے میں
جنوں کا نام اچھلتا رہا زمانے میں

جنوں سے بھول ہوئی دل پہ چوٹ کھانے میں
فراقؔ دیر ابھی تھی بہار آنے میں

اسی کی شرح ہے یہ اٹھتے درد کا عالم
جو داستاں تھی نہاں تیرے آنکھ اٹھانے میں

وہ کوئی رنگ ہے جو اڑ نہ جائے اے گل تر
وہ کوئی بو ہے جو رسوا نہ ہو زمانے میں
