puchh na un nigahon ki turfa karishma-saziyan
fitne sula ke rah gain fitne jaga ke rah gain

yaad kuchh aain is tarah bhuli hui kahaniyan
khoe hue dilon mein aaj dard uTha ke rah gain

jhum ke phir chalin hawaen wajd mein aain phir fazaen
phir teri yaad ki ghaTaen sinon pe chha ke rah gain

kaun sukun de saka gham-zadagan-e-ishq ko
bhigti raaten bhi 'firaq' aag laga ke rah gain

پوچھ نہ ان نگاہوں کی طرفہ کرشمہ سازیاں
فتنے سلا کے رہ گئیں فتنے جگا کے رہ گئیں

یاد کچھ آئیں اس طرح بھولی ہوئی کہانیاں
کھوے ہوئے دلوں میں آج درد اٹھا کے رہ گئیں

جھوم کے پھر چلیں ہوائیں وجد میں آئیں پھر فضائیں
پھر تری یاد کی گھٹائیں سینوں پہ چھا کے رہ گیں

کون سکون دے سکا غم زدگان عشق کو
بھیگتی راتیں بھی فراقؔ آگ لگا کے رہ گیں
