Big surge in Covid-19 cases in Mumbai, Delhi; Polling ends in Tamil Nadu, Kerala peacefully; more

The Health Ministry on Tuesday said that Covid-19 is spreading at a faster pace now than compared to last year and the next four weeks will be very critical in India's fight against the pandemic. Delhi government imposed a night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am till 30 April in wake of the Covid situation in Delhi. Even Mumbai on Monday reported 9,857 new Covid-19 cases, a slight dip from Sunday's single-day tally, which was the highest-ever with more than 11,000 new cases since the pandemic began. Meanwhile, voter turnout crossed 60 per cent in Tamil Nadu by evening while Kerala continued to witness a massive turnout of voters on Tuesday with 71.31 per cent electors casting their franchise till 6 p, as minor incidents of violence were reported from few places.
