Elections are being held in three phases for the 126 assembly seats of Assam. Voting for the first phase has been completed on March 27, and voting for the second phase has taken place on April 1. On April 6, voting will be held in 40 seats in the third phase. The results will come on 2 May. असम की 126 विधानसभा सीटों के लिए तीन चरणों में चुनाव हो रहे हैं. पहले चरण की वोटिंग 27 मार्च दूसरे चरण की वोटिंग 1 अप्रैल को हो चुकी है. 6 अप्रैल को तीसरे चरण में 40 सीटों पर वोटिंग होगी. 2 मई को नतीजे आएंगे. बहुमत के लिए 64 सीटें जीतनी जरूरी हैं. वंही इस बीच असम में तीसरे और आखिरी फेज की वोटिंग से पहले दो सरकारी कर्मचारियों को चोरी करने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया है. मामला बारपेटा जिले के चुनाव आयोग के दफ्तर का है
