India breaches 1-lakh mark, Amit Shah to review situation in Chhattisgarh, more

The Union health ministry on Monday said India recorded more than 1.03 lakh cases in the past 24 hours. Eight states-Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat- have emerged as major contributors to the daily caseload. Maharashtra, which is the worst affected, reported the highest single-day rise of 57,074 new Covid-19 cases.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to the jawans who were ambushed by Naxals near the Bijapur-Sukma border in Chhattisgarh on Saturday. Amit Shah will also chair a high-level meet on Monday to take stock of the situation in Chhattisgarh. Watch the video for more details.
