Kanpur, In the city, colors are played for seven days after Holi and Ganga Mela is organized on the seventh day. शहर में होली के बाद सात दिन तक रंग खेला जाता है और सातवें दिन गंगा मेला का आयोजन होता है। इसके पीछे स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन की कहनी है लेकिन, बहुत कम लोग जानते हैं कि यह परंपरा पहले से थी। इसके विषय में ज्यादा लोग नहीं जानते हैं, हालांकि शहर में गंगा मेला पर होली खेलने की सन् 1942 की कहानी अधिक चर्चित है लेकिन यह परंपरा काफी पुरानी है.
