Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader A Raja on Monday apologised for calling Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami an "illegitimate child" at an election rally. A Raja apologised for his remarks against him a day after CM Palaniswami got emotional and cried over the remark while campaigning for the upcoming assembly election.

Aplogising for his "illegitimate child" remark, A Raja said he was hurt after seeing CM Palaniswami crying during a poll rally. A Raja also said his intention was not to attack his personal life but "was only comparing their political careers".

A Raja had on Saturday triggered a row by insinuating that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami (EPS) was “born of an illegitimate affair as a premature baby."
