Insiders Jeff Goodman and Bob Ryan react to the trade that sent Nikola Vucevic to the Chicago Bulls. The Magic traded Vucevic and Al-Farouq Aminu to the Bulls in exchange for Wendell Carter Jr., Otto Porter, and two first-round picks.
Vucevic has been having an amazing season so far. He was just recently selected to the second All-Star game of his career. He's averaging 24.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists on the season. This trade will give Chicago a more established big man in the middle as they hunt for a playoff spot.
Vucevic joins All-Star guard Zach LaVine to form a two-headed monster for the Bulls. Both Goodman and Ryan praise his scoring ability in the post and on the perimeter. This was one of two major moves made by the Bulls yesterday. Both were made with the intention of fighting for a spot in the play-in or the playoffs.
