Devendra Fadnavis counters Anil Deshmukh's quarantine claim, says Sharad Pawar was misled

Senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday slammed the Uddhav Thackeray-led government over the letter written by former Mumbai police chief against Anil Deshmukh, claiming that the attempt made by the alliance to ‘protect’ the Maharashtra Home Minister has been exposed.

Criticising the MVA government, Devendra Fadnavis once again highlighted discrepancies in the alibi put forth by NCP chief Sharad Pawar at a press conference on Monday.

Addressing the media on Tuesday, Devendra Fadnavis claimed that Sharad Pawar was not properly briefed. “It shows a national leader in a bad light,” Fadnavis said.

"Sharad Pawar addressed a press conference and said claims made by Param Bir Singh are incorrect as Anil Deshmukh was hospitalised and then quarantined. On February 15, Deshmukh came to Mumbai by a private plane and it was said he was home-quarantined."
