The number of daily Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra increased further on Thursday with the state crossing the 25,000-mark in daily cases, which is the highest single-day infection count so far this year. Maharashtra reported 25,833 cases and 58 deaths in the last 24 hours, with Nagpur district alone reporting 3,796 new cases of the novel coronavirus. In another big news, PM Modi launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over various issues. Addressing a rally in Purulia, PM Modi said the people of Bengal will punish Mamata for years of misrule. He went on to mock Mamata's 'Khela Hobe' slogan. "Didi says 'khela hobe', but BJP says 'vikas hobe'," PM Modi said.
