Today is World Wildlife Day with the theme: "Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet," as a way to highlight the central role of forests, forest species and ecosystems services in sustaining the livelihoods of hundreds of millions of people globally, and particularly of Indigenous and local communities with historic ties to forest and forest-adjacent areas.

आज वर्ल्ड वाइल्डलाइफ डे है. हर साल 3 मार्च का दिन पूरे देशभर में विश्व वन्यजीव दिवस के तौर पर मनाया जाता है. इसका उद्देश्य अलग-अलग थीम के माध्यम से लोगों में वन्य जीवों और पेड़-पौधों के प्रति जागरूकता फैलाना और इनका संरक्षण करना हैं. विश्व वन्यजीव दिवस को मनाने का मुख्य उद्देश्य विश्वभर में वन्यजीवों की सुरक्षा और पेड़- पौधों की लुप्तप्राय प्रजातियों के प्रति लोगों को जागरूक करना है.
