The demi-gods of Tamil Nadu politics no longer walk the earth. Periyar, Annadurai, MGR, Jayalalitha and Karunanidhi-- names of Tamil icons that continue to dictate Tamil politics and fortune of their political parties.

However, this time Tamil Nadu assembly election will be interesting as none of the icons are around, though there have been some new entrants and legacies are set to clash.
