Why Dave Franco wrote horror flick "The Rental" for his directorial debut
  • 3 years ago
Actor Dave Franco discusses the making of his directorial debut, “The Rental,” which he co-wrote with Joe Swanberg and stars Dan Stevens, Alison Brie, Sheila Vand and Jeremy Allen White. The film, available July 24 from IFC, centers around four friends who rent a vacation home. Franco tells Salon it was inspired by his own paranoia about home sharing. “We're all aware of the risks of staying in a stranger's home, but we never actually think anything bad will happen to us,” he said.
