"Mr. Trump is not a well man."

Gregg Popovich unloaded on President Trump, Josh Hawley, "a joke," and Ted Cruz for "throwing fuel on Trump's fire. They're worse than Trump because they're not sick. They're not deeply flawed." Popovich chided their greed and lust for power while reacting to the storming of the US Capitol by Donald Trump supporters, who broke windows and invaded the Senate chamber while occupying the building. Popovich accused a wink and a nod by officials for allowing such an invasion, "the fact that it was the Capitol ... that was America. That's who we are, but we don't want to do that. Mike Pence can send a message, if he doesn't I hope Nancy Pelosi follows through, even if it doesn't work. That's not the point ... I'm embarrassed."
