The discovery of a new strain of the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes the Covid-19 illness, has caused alarm in the United Kingdom. The variant has triggered concern and prompted several countries to stop incoming flights from the UK. The World Health Organization has said that there is no evidence to suggest that the new strain of Covid causes severe diseases or mortality.
