Team India on Saturday achieved an unfortunate record as they ended up with their lowest score in Test history on Day 3 of the first match of the Border-Gavaskar series in Adelaide. India were well on top of the hosts after the second day as they reached 9 for 1 at stumps in their second innings with a lead of 62 runs. But the whole match turned on its head in the first hour of play on Day 3 as Australia picked up 8 wickets in the first session to restrict India to 36 for 9 in 21.2 overs to get right back in the Pink-ball Test. Their previous lowest total was 42 all out in the Lord's Test against England on June 20, 1974.

19 दिसम्बर 2020, ये दिन बिलकुल भी याद मत रखिये. भूलना क्रिकेट फैन्स के लिए सही होगा. 36 रन और पूरी टीम वापस. 88 साल के इतिहास में ऐसा भारत के साथ पहली बार हुआ है. एडिलेड में खेले जा रहे पहले टेस्ट मैच की दूसरी पारी मात्र 36 रनों पर ही सिमट गयी. अच्छा ख़ासा भारतीय टीम जीत की तरफ बढ़ रही थी, बस दूसरी पारी में कम से कम 250 रनभी बना देते तो पहली पारी की बढ़त के बाद ऑस्ट्रेलिया को चौथी पारी में 300 प्लस चेज करना होता. हर क्रिकेट विशेषग्य ने ये कैलकुलेट भी कर लिया था. पर किसने सोचा था कि भारत का ऐसा हाल होने वाला है. एक भी भारतीय बल्लेबाज दहाई अंकों का आंकडा पार नहीं कर सका. और 36 रन पर पूरी टीम वापस लौट गयी. ये टेस्ट क्रिकेट इतिहास में मात्र दूसरी बार हुआ है.
