BJP gives 'finishing touches' to its West Bengal assembly election strategy

With lessons from Bihar, the BJP is giving "finishing touches" to its strategy for the West Bengal assembly elections due in April-May next year, party sources said on Wednesday. The saffron party has set a target of winning more than 200 seats in the 294-strong Bengal assembly. The BJP, which has made deep inroads in West Bengal by winning 18 of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state in last year's elections, four less than the ruling TMC, was waiting for the Bihar election results before beginning its "final assault" on the Mamata Banerjee government, party sources said.
