China's Singles' Day is the largest e-commerce shopping event in the world.  Billions of US dollars in sales are spent each November 11, as Chinese shoppers take advantage of deals offered on e-commerce platforms.  The 2020 event got under way amid the lingering economic pressure of the coronavirus pandemic, so all eyes are on whether Chinese consumers have the same huge appetite for spending they have had in past years.
