The Washington Football Team
announced Peterson's release
on Friday morning.
The veteran running back had been
with the team for two seasons,
missing only one game.
This leaves Antonio Gibson, Peyton Barber,
J.D. McKissic and Bryce Love on
Washington's running back roster.
Over the course of his 13-year career,
Peterson ranks fifth for
all-time rushing yards, with 14,216.
He follows only NY Jets player Frank Gore
on the active rushing list.
In the 2019 season, he accrued 898 yards,
carrying the ball 211 times.
Peterson's first 10 years in the
NFL were with the Minnesota Vikings.
