Vikings' Adrian Peterson out vs. Packers

The Vikings have ruled running back Adrian Peterson out for Sunday's game against the Packers. Peterson, who carried six times for 22 yards in the Vikings' 34-6 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, told reporters he escaped the game with just a few "nicks." After tearing his meniscus earlier in the season, Peterson made it a goal to come back if Minnesota was in playoff contention, but with the loss last weekend, it's highly unlikely that the team reaches the postseason. Peterson turns 32 in March and would carry an $18 million cap hit in 2017. He's also do a $6 million roster bonus.
