Indian & Chinese Troops Clash In Sikkim, Ladakh Leaving Several Injured As Border Tensions Flare Up
  • 3 years ago
Border tensions between India and China have flared up once again. At least two incidents of violent clashes and stone-pelting between Indian and Chinese troops have been reported over the last week. The rival troops clashed in Ladakh and Sikkim, leaving several soldiers injured. The incidents took place in the Naku La sector, a mountain pass in Sikkim at an altitude of over 5000 metres on May 9 and in a contested area near Pangong Tso, a lake in Ladakh, on the night of May 5-6. At least 15 Indian soldiers were injured during scuffle with Chinese troops in the Naku La sector. India and China have differing views on the alignment of the Line of Actual Control in the region. “Temporary and short duration faceoffs between border guarding troops do occur as boundaries are not resolved. Aggressive behaviour by the two sides resulted in minor injuries to troops. The two sides disengaged after dialogue and interaction at local level” The Army said in a statement.
