Jose Mouinho said it was a pity Gareth Bale "couldn't score that fourth goal" after his first appearance for the club ended in a 3-3 draw against West Ham.
Bale came off the bench in the second half with Tottenham leading 3-0.
That score was still the case with under 10 minutes to go before West Ham's late fightback.
But Mourinho said he did not believe the excitement surrounding Bale's debut had affected his players.
