The National Security Guard is an elite counter-terrorism unit under the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs. It was founded on 15 October 1984, following Operation Blue Star, Golden Temple attack and the assassination of Indira Gandhi, "for combating terrorist activities and protect states against internal disturbances

देश की एलीट काउंटर-टेररिज्‍म फोर्स, नैशनल सिक्‍योरिटी गार्ड आज अपना स्‍थापना दिवस मना रही है। बड़े घटनाक्रमों के चलते जन्‍मी इस फोर्स को 'आतंकी गतिविधियों और देश को आंतरिक परेशानियों से बचाने' के लिए बनाया गया था। और एनएसजी ने देश के इस भरोसे को कायम भी रखा. एनएसजी देश में ऐसे कई खतरनाक मिशन को अंजाम दे चुकी है जिससे इसे दुनिया के अग्रणी कमांडो ग्रुप में रखा जाता है.
