Union Minister Smriti Irani arrived in Varanasi on a day-long visit on Saturday where she faced opposition from SP and Congress workers over the Hathras incident. Congress activists stopped Smriti Irani's convoy, during which Smriti Irani set her car Downstairs, she talked to the women Congress worker, activists were shouting slogans like Smriti Irani Go Back, Congressmen presented red bangles to the Union Minister.

केंद्रीय मंत्री स्मृति ईरानी शनिवार को एक दिवसीय दौरे पर वाराणसी पहुंची,जहां उन्हें हाथरस की घटना को लेकर एसपी और कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं के विरोध का सामना करना पड़ा।कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं ने स्मृति ईरानी का काफिला रोक लिया,इस दौरान स्मृति ईरानी ने अपनी कार का शीशा नीचे कर महिला कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ता से बात की,कार्यकर्ताओं ने स्मृति ईरानी गो बैक जैसे नारे लगा रहे थे,कांग्रेसियों ने केंद्रीय मंत्री को लाल चूड़ियां भेंट की।
