Eleven fires that burned over 9,800 acres of land over the weekend due to bad weather conditions as fires continue to devastate parts of Spain. The fires were recorded in the northern Spanish autonomous community of Galicia over this past weekend. They were reported in three provinces, Lugo, Ponteveedra and Ourense, the last of which suffered the most destruction. Authorities reported 4,000 hectares (9,884 acres) of land were burned over the weekend after strong winds and high temperatures helped further spread the fires. The videos show the moment authorities battle the flames which can be seen painting the sky orange and consuming large areas of land. Firefighters are seen using large vehicles to create barriers and stop the fires from moving to more areas. Other first-responders dig holes and assess the area in the darkness of night as flames can be seen very near them.
