Coronavirus Lockdown: 5 महीने में 83 लाख लोग बने MGNREGA मजदूर, 7 साल टूटा Record | वनइंडिया हिंदी

IN a clear sign that MGNREGA has emerged as a safety net for lakhs amid the economic distress triggered by Covid-19, over 83 lakh new households have been issued job cards under the scheme during the first five months of the current financial year. Signficantly, this number — from April 1 to September 3— is higher than the annual surge for the last seven years for which data is available on the NREGA portal.

कोरोना संकट के चलते देश की अर्थव्यवस्था खस्ता हो चुकी है। जिसके चलते बेरोजगारी बहुत तेजी से बढ़ रही है। ऐसे में कोरोना काल में मनरेगा प्रवासी मजदूरों के लिए वरदान साबित हुआ है। चालू वित्त वर्ष के पहले पांच महीनों के दौरान इस योजना के तहत 83 लाख से अधिक नए परिवारों को जॉब कार्ड जारी किए गए हैं। गौरतलब है कि 1 अप्रैल से 3 सितंबर के बीच जो संख्या सामने आई है यह पिछले सात वर्षों के सालाना वृद्धि से अधिक है.
