Super typhoon hits, US warns of 'not survivable' destruction.
Super typhoon Laura, a Category 4 hurricane with winds of 240 kilometers per hour, just hit the US coast of Louisiana.

The storm made landfall early on August 27 (local time), bringing heavy rain and strong winds. Rainfall is forecast to be up to 381milimeter in some places and risky alcohol waves up to 6m.

Images of Hurricane Laura on American media showed a gust of wind that knocked down many trees in coastal communities. AP reported that a major highway in Louisiana was flooded and thousands of sandbags were placed on roads in the small town of Lafitte. In the town of Delcambre, strong winds caused people to rush to supermarkets to shelter.

The US National Weather Service had previously called on people in the area to immediately seek safe shelter.

"Find shelter now. Deal with these powerful winds as if a tornado is approaching. Get to safety immediately. Take action to protect your lives", The agency posted a recommendation on Twitter.
