Scenario America loses in the vaccine race with China.
David Fidler has been thinking of a scenario that China will announce the successful first Phase three Covid-19 vaccine test, but not in the US.
"If China wins this race and takes advantage of it, and the United States has nothing to do with it, what should we do? That's what worries me the most," said Fidler, global health and wellness expert. US National Security, who previously advised the World Health Organization (WHO), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said.
Fidler is not alone in worrying about what will happen in the next few months, as major powers are racing to get the first Covid-19 vaccine. Many health and vaccine experts warn it is too early to say that any of the vaccines being tested in Phase Three worldwide have been shown to be safe and effective with Covid-19.
Among these vaccines were four candidates from China, three from the US Speed Campaign Project and one from Australia. Russia has licensed the Sputnik V vaccine, but the vaccine is still conducting Phase Three trials on a large scale.
