'Messi’s Argentina club return is always open' - Newell’s fan group leader
  • 4 years ago
Hundreds of fans of the Argentinean football club where Lionel Messi began his career, Newell's Old Boys, held a car caravan rally through the player's hometown on Thursday in the hope of persuading their idol to return to his first team.

After the Argentine star slammed the door in Barcelona earlier in the week, fans and leaders of the popular team from Rosario, his hometown located 300 kilometers north of Buenos Aires, are excited to bring him back and enjoy it as they could not.

To that end, hundreds of Newell's fans staged a noisy and colorful protest in vehicles from the "Marcelo Bielsa" stadium to the Flag Monument, symbol of this city on the banks of the Paraná River.
