These are the two national-level entrance exams for professional courses. Around 16 lakh students have registered for NEET-UG this year, while close to 9.3 lakh students had registered for JEE-Mains (Paper I) that was conducted in January. An equal number of students were expected to appear for the second phase of the exam, which are scheduled for April-May each year.

जिस परीक्षा का छात्रों को शिद्दत से इंतजार रहता है, जिसके लिए छात्र कड़ी मेहनत करते हैं आखिर उसी परीक्षा का विरोध क्यों हो रहा है...जी हां...हम बात कर रहे हैं NEET-JEE एग्जाम का. जिसके परीक्षा के खिलाफ विरोध बढ़ता ही जा रहा है. मामला सुप्रीम कोर्ट भी गया, लेकिन वहां से भी परीक्षा को हरी झंडी मिल गई. परीक्षा में अब दस दिनों से भी कम समय बचा है लेकिन कुछ छात्र संगठनों के साथ अब राजनीतिक दल और बॉलीवुड हस्ती भी इसके विरोध में उतर आए हैं.
