Veterinarians treat injured turtle at Taronga Zoo Sydney
  • 4 years ago
This footage shows the damage caused by a ship's propeller on a wild sea turtle which appears to have recovered from the injury, but was then taken ill with another condition which resulted in him being rescued and taken to the vets. The turtle received its medical examinations in the Taronga Zoo Sydney, located in the Australian city of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales after it was found floating and unable to dive. Floating in turtles can indicate a build-up of gas from diet or serious respiratory problems. The video shows the moment Wildlife Hospital veterinarian Kimberly Vinette Herrin from the zoo speaks to the camera introducing the procedures she will be carrying out while treating the ill green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas).
