The coronavirus lockdown may by and large be over across much of the UK, but the end of coronavirus in the UK is far from in sight, with rising cases and several local lockdowns in place. The coronavirus death toll has now passed 40,000 in the UK, the highest death toll in Europe.
Police have been dealing with a surge of illegal gatherings, particularly large raves, with police attending more then 200 illegal events over one weekend in London alone.
Metropolitan Police officers have responded to more than 1,000 illegal events in the capital since the end of June.
West Midlands Police shut down 125 parties and raves - including one attended by up to 600 people - in one weekend.
Birmingham Police were called to more than 70 street and house parties and other unlicensed gatherings on Saturday night.
