In late 2022, the NSW goverment absolved 33,000 fines totalling $30 million, after the Supreme Court deemed the fines invalid.

Meanwhile, the Victorian government is facing pressure to wipe out around 50,000 its fines after it was found that ethnic minorities were unfairly targeted by police.
